Breakfast in Trinidad - Empanada...
The chocolate is made with water and paste made from wild cacao beans. Unfortunately, the beans used were slightly moldy and the chocolate tasted funky. Nonetheless, it's about 6 in the morning after 9 hours on a bus and restless sleep. The only other alternative at this time of day is a local delicacy - patasca - a soup made by boiling a cow's head all night with some vegetables and other stuff I did not inquire about too closely.
