It's been a busy summer as we prepare for the final competitions of 2013 and begin to make plans for our third year, 2014. We have more countries in the pipeline for next year and will be making announcements about these soon, after this year's World Final.

Meanwhile, here's a quick update about what's been happening over the last few months:

Americas Semi-final 2013

Grand Jury finalists - the entries that made it through to the final round of judging - have been announced here . The winners of the competition will be announced on October 1st at a ceremony in New York, details will be sent to the finalists in the next few days.

European Semi-final 2013

If you're a European reader, we've now added a list of the judges at the competition (less any who opted out). The Americas Semi-final judges list will be posted soon.

As asked for in our last end of year survey, from this competition onwards we're also publishing lists of which products made it through to the Grand Jury round of each competition. For the 2013 European Semi-final, you can find this here .

Judges' feedback is now also available for entrants, please log back into the site to find the comments on your entries. Please let us know if you have any problems logging in.

Canadian National Competition 2013

This year's Canadian competition is now open for entries, closing date 18 September, samples by 20 Sept. Full details here .

World Final 2103

The World Final will be judged during Chocolate Week in London, 14-20 October, with the final Grand Jury round taking place live at the London's new Salon du Chocolate on 18 October. Winners of this years competitions will be notified shortly about how to submit their samples.

Judging updates

For those interested in how the awards work and our efforts to be fair, impartial and work for both the industry and consumers, we have a blog post about some of this year's improvements here .

We have much more detailed feedback this year for the Selection round - judges must now provide a technical reason if they feel a sample should not go through to the next round. We've also published the rules the Grand Jury follow when making their final decisions about which products are given prizes.

If you have any questions or queries, please contact us here or use the contact form on our site.

Best wishes,
