As a manufacturer I would also like to add that you be concerned with packaging that is Food grade paperboard and FDA approved for non-direct contact. one of the issues you can run into is out-gasseing of odor that can transfer to the product, not a good thing to have happen. Standards are also very important as you don't want to by a box only to find that the trays/pads don't fit and you now have another labor effort. JMHO. If I can be of help please let me know. We also have thousands of standing dies that we offer at no charge when ordering custom branded boxes in runs as low as 1,000 pcs. Not trying to sell you all here, just providing information. Our growth curve may mimic lots of yours.* You start with what you find local, you need more..* You order from a purveyor of boxes, and it works for a time, but you want something more you..* You add some angle of customization which usually requires a new box, and that works for a while.* You really start coming into your own product and realize your steps of customization might be too laborious so you then start looking down custom boxes.. and that works..Then your at that level of packaging budget that you've converted labor costs into box costs which should make for less headaches... at least that's where we are now hehe.It's a fun, expensive, time intense, online or catalog staring journey that I don't think will ever end.

I have to agree with Andre unless you decided to go with a custom made box but you'll pay a lot for that service. And even then, as your business changes, so will your packaging needs. Thanks to all the others for the additional links.

Hi - we have a chain of shops called 'Hobbycraft' in the UK and I think they are also in the USA. I have seen a variety of containers in my local branch that would suit you, including some that you buy flat and fold yourself. You could also look in greeting card shops as they have a good range of gift boxes

Hi Mike,This is a dilema I'm facing as well. Here is the best option I've found thus far. I can't say I've ordered these yet but I've seen them in a store. They are not high end but they are the right size and should hold your truffles well. As long as your truffles are around 1" tall. I like this option because the tuffles have individual compartments (trays) so you'll know how many will fit into the box. http://www.boxandwrap.com/ballobox.html I will probably be ordering them soon for the holiday's.
