The Max Brenner shop just south of Union Square in NYC was full yesterday with waits of an hour or more.

Gwen - I was taking a very different tack in my comments from the one you took, and by the way I agree with much of what you have to say. If you are interested, why don't you start a forum post about the aspects of the retail experience you like about Max Brenner so that others can chime in. I know that there are some chocolate shop owners in the group.

Is it worth the wait? Here is a NYTimes review and I have to say that I generally agree. My Mexican hot chocolate was first served on the cool side of lukewarm and when it was returned it was so hot (probably nuked) that I could not pick up the handle-less "hug mug." While I could taste the cinnamon and nutmeg, the heat of the peppers was pretty much non-existent.http://events.nytimes.com/2007/05/02/dining/reviews/02rest.html
